Pseudo-Evangelism The "Good News" is that Jesus has died on a Cross to pay for your sins. Telling people this "Good News" is the definition of the word "evangelism". Nevertheless, the word "evangelism" is often abused these days. "Evangelism" is often used to describe many other ventures, ventures other that telling people that "Good News" of salvation by faith through Jesus Christ. This is called "pseudo-evangelism". There are in fact, many forms of pseudo-evangelism these days. For example, telling people to do good works is not evangelism. Many people tell people to do good works in order to try to earn their own salvation. Good works do not save. Only Jesus saves. Some so-called "evangelists" do not tell people the Good News of salvation through Christ. Instead of telling people to trust Jesus, (the Real Jesus who is up in Heaven right now), such men substitute "good works" for the "Good News". Often such so-called evangelists tell people to "pray a prayer", "confess your sins", "invite Jesus into your heart", "raise your hand", "ask Jesus to save you" or some other form of salvation by works . Such men are not true evangelists. Instead, they are "Pseudo-Evangelists". Some preachers substitute something else for telling people about Jesus. Such preachers often call their organized efforts at inviting people to a "party", "Evangelism". Inviting people to a "party" is nice. Nevertheless, it is not evangelism. Shockingly, some men go even further, actually forbidding "their people" from telling people about Jesus while on "evangelism". The extreme hypocrisy of such pseudo-evangelism efforts should be obvious. I have even heard of church members being disciplined by their pastor for telling people about Jesus "during evangelism". Such is the extreme state of sin within the churches in these last days. (To their credit, most preachers would not commit such an awful sin - the sin of actually forbidding people to tell others about Jesus and disciplining them if they should so dare.) And how about you? Do you tell people about Jesus? Do you rather obey your pastor and so refuse to tell people about Jesus during "evangelism"? Are you a "pseudo-evangelist"? Do you invite people to a party and carefully hide the gospel from such lost souls during such "evangelism efforts"? Are you working for God or for the Devil? Whose side are you on, anyway? Perhaps you have been offended by such questioning. Perhaps you do not ever tell people about Jesus. If you never tell people about Jesus, then your problem is probably that you are still lost and on the road to Hell. Jesus has not saved you, so you have no "Good News" to tell other people - the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus alone. If you are lost, then you need to come to Jesus and trust Him to forgive you for your sins. Jesus will save you if you come to Him. Will you come to Him? Will you rather put it off and so (in all likelihood) you will one day die and drop down into the flames of Hell? Come to Jesus now -- while you still have the chance. Get it settled. Trust Jesus today. Then get in to a good Fundamentalist Baptist church and live for Jesus. The Good News You Can Use * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
